Cheboygan High School Chiefs Hockey

This is the 11th season for Cheboygan Chiefs hockey. The team's inaugural season was 1999-2000. The Chiefs play in the Northern Michigan Hockey League and are a Division III school of the Michigan High School Athletic Association.

• Cheboygan 5 Petoskey 3

• The Chiefs (12-7) beat the Northmen 3-2 Saturday afternoon in Petoskey. Joey Stacks and Eryn Eustice lead the Chiefs with 2 goals apiece. Tyson Eustice had a goal and 2 assists, Josiah Neelis had 2 assists one of them being a nice pass out front to Eryn Eustice late in the 3rd period for a 4-3 lead, and a game winning goal. Defenseman Stan Swiderek had an assist on Joey Stacks 1st goal in the 2nd period. Danny Stacks was in goal for his 3rd win in his last three starts.  

• Cheboygan 4 Pinckney 2

• The Chiefs beat the Pinckney Pirates at home Friday Night 2/5/10 4-2. David Charboneau led the Chiefs with 2 power play goals. David led off the scoring in the first period at the 9:47 mark to put the Chiefs up 1-0 with an assist from Josiah Neelis. The Pirates tied the game with: 48 seconds to play in the 1st on a power play goal of their own. Eryn Eustice put the Chiefs up 2-1 in the 2nd period on a short handed break away goal at the 7:52 mark of the 2nd. Joey Stacks then put the Chiefs up 3-1 on an even strength break away goal with an assist from defenseman Travis Stempky. Pinckney cut the lead to
  3-2 in the 3rd period with 10:59 to play in the game. At the 9:00 mark David Charboneau scored the 2nd of his two power play goals to put the Chiefs up 4-2. The Chiefs played much of the rest of the game shorthanded but goaltender Danny Stacks stood on his head, did a few back flips and couple of cartwheels to shut the Pirates down the rest of the way for the 4-2 win. Stacks faced 27 shots with 25 saves. The Chiefs put 24 shots on goal.
