Cheboygan High School Chiefs Hockey

The 2014-15 season will be the 16th year for Cheboygan Chiefs Hockey. The team's inaugural season was 1999-2000. The Chiefs play in the Northern Michigan Hockey League and are a Division III school of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. The Cheboygan Chiefs Hockey program is totally funded through the Cheboygan Blueliners Club.

Craig Coxe is entering his 4th year as Head Coach of the Chiefs. Coach Coxe is a veteran coach at multiple levels from youth hockey to Minor Professional hockey. He is a former NHL player with the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks. Tom Smith is in his 6th season as Assistant Coach and Strength & Conditioning Trainer. Volunteer Assistant Coach Kevin Chapman works with the goaltenders.

Northern Michigan Hockey League - Standings





The next meeting for the Cheboygan Blueliners will be Monday, November 10, 7:00 p.m. at the Cheboygan Ice Pavilion. This is a mandatory parent meeting and also the annual election of officers. All Blueliners, parents and anyone interested in helping support Chief Hockey are welcome. Current officers are Andy Stempky, President; Mike Grisdale, Vice President; Dana Stempky, Secretary; and Scott Kelley, Interim Treasurer.


The Blueliners are having a can/bottle drive fundraiser November 21 and 22. Returnables can be brought to the Chiefs game vs. Cadillac on November 21. Players will also be collecting empty bottles and cans on November 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Family Fare in Cheboygan. Proceeds help support the Cheboygan Chief Hockey program.


The Blueliners would like to thank everyone who helped support our recent Benefit Car Wash in the Lincoln Bridge Plaza. A special thanks to Rick Tromble and Mark Stormzand for helping us organize and coordinate the event. We were able to raise $523 for Cheboygan Chiefs Hockey.
