Cheboygan High School Chiefs Hockey
The 2014-15 season will be the 16th year for Cheboygan Chiefs Hockey. The team's inaugural season was 1999-2000. The Chiefs play in the Northern Michigan Hockey League and are a Division III school of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. The Cheboygan Chiefs Hockey program is totally funded through the Cheboygan Blueliners Club.
Craig Coxe is entering his 4th year as Head Coach of the Chiefs. Coach Coxe is a veteran coach at multiple levels from youth hockey to Minor Professional hockey. He is a former NHL player with the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks. Tom Smith is in his 6th season as Assistant Coach and Strength & Conditioning Trainer. Volunteer Assistant Coach Kevin Chapman works with the goaltenders.

The Blueliners would like to thank everyone who helped support our recent Benefit Car Wash in the Lincoln Bridge Plaza. A special thanks to Rick Tromble and Mark Stormzand for helping us organize and coordinate the event. We were able to raise $523 for Cheboygan Chiefs Hockey.
The next meeting for the Cheboygan Blueliners will be Monday, September 8, 7:00 p.m. at the Cheboygan Ice Pavilion. All Blueliners, parents and anyone interested in helping support Chief Hockey is welcome, Current officers are Andy Stempky, President; Mike Grisdale, Vice President; Dana Stempky, Secretary; and Scott Kelley, Interim Treasurer.
2013-14 Season Comes to an End
The pre-regional game Wednesday night was the end of the 2013-14 season for the Chiefs. Cheboygan fell to #4 Sault Ste. Marie by a score of 7-2. The Blue Devils scored early and often extending their lead to 6-1 at the first intermission. The second and third periods saw much improved play out of the Chiefs. Kaleb Wood came off the bench with stellar play between the pipes holding the Soo scoreless in the second and only allowing one goal in the third. Wood was voted the WCBY player of the game. Cheboygan's scoring came on two power play goals. In the first period, Zack Schley put one in the net with assists from Adam Jeannotte and Austin Christie. In the 3rd period, DJ Sayers scored with assists coming from Schley and Jeannotte. The Blue Devils outshot Chebygan, 53-24.

Chiefs Game at Cadillac Cancelled
The extreme winter weather was too much. Originally scheduled for Friday, February 21st, then rescheduled for Saturday, February 22nd, the Chiefs final regular season game at Cadillac has now been cancelled and will not be made up. The Chiefs will now get ready for their pre-regional game at Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday, February 26, 7:30 p.m.
Chiefs Win Conferenece Tournament!
The Chiefs won the inaugural NMHL Tournament over the weekend in Traverse City! Cheboygan beat Manistee in the finals on Saturday, 5-1 after dramatic win over the Bay Area Reps on Friday night, 2-1 (OT). The Chiefs improve their record to 10-14 and will wrap up the regular season at Cadillac, February 21st.
